A total of 35 files are currently available on the National Archives website. They contain 8,500 pages including Air Force reports, photos, eyewitnesses' drawings, and for the first time include documents on the government's response to various UFO reports.

According to one of them, the House of Lords debated various UFO reports in 1978.

Another document describes the handling of the 1967 incident dubbed "The War of Worlds." Following numerous reports of six flying saucers moving in perfect line, the government treated the situation like a potentially real alien invasion.

Military aircraft, four police units, a bomb squad, troops and the defense ministry's intelligence branch were dispatched to the area, but reports proved to be a hoax.
