Brussels Chocolate Festival melts hearts of 30 000 visitors

The Belgian capital proudly hosted the first "Salon du Chocolat" on February 7-9, 2014. More than 90 chocolate labels displayed the latest tendencies of the chocolate industry over 4.000 square meters of exhibition space.

Prime Minister of Belgium Elio Di Rupo, ministers, prominent politicians, diplomats and others came to celebrate the sweet feast and enjoy the know-how of the best European chocolatiers. Apparel made from chocolate generated huge public interest.

The country is among the world's top 5 chocolate producers with 450 confectionery factories located on the Belgium soil. In addition, Belgium is currently the second largest consumer of chocolate in the world after Switzerland - each Belgian consumes 10 kilos of chocolate per year.
