Bus fleet to be 90% renewed in Aktobe rgn
75% of the total roads in Aktobe region is in standard condition. The figure is the second lowest nationwide, governor Askhat Shakharov said, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
According to Shakharov, Aktobe region boasts great transit potential thanks to its geographic location.
This year, 458km of roads of local significance have been repaired for KZT33bn. In 2024, it is planned to repair 480km of road surface, bringing the total roads in standard condition to 82%, said the governor of Aktobe region at a press conference.
As he said, one of the pressing issues is the condition of public transport. To address this issue. The region has obtained 180 new buses in the past two years. Next year, 70 more buses are to be purchased with the bus fleet to be 90% renewed.
Speaking about the state of republican roads, Shakharov mentioned the Aktobe-Ulgaisyn road with a capacity of three thousand cars per day now handles over 16 thousand vehicles.
In addition, as part of the development of inter-district logistics the Aktobe-Shalkar rail service connecting 30 small settlements of Mugalzhar and Shalkar districts and the region’s administration center was opened.
