By many parameters Kazakhstan came close to world's leading economies - President

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - By many parameters Kazakhstan is already among the world's 30 most competitive economies, believes President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

"Over a short period of time - only two decades - we've come close to these countries, by the level of development of our economy, industrial sector, agriculture, education, healthcare and other factors," the Kazakh President said at the youth forum titled "Towards new victories with the Nation's Leader!" in Astana on Friday. According to the Head of State, nowadays our main goal is to catch up with the world's leading economies in terms of the quality of life. "To make it happen, we need to double GDP per capita. Currently, it makes about $13,000 per person. For instance, in Singapore it totals nearly $80,000 per capita, in Europe - $60,000. This is the level we need to reach," Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed.
