Cabinet discusses further development of Qarmet
Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet to discuss the issues of the current activity and further development of Qarmet, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The meeting attended by the top officials of the central governmental structures and new investor focused on the measures of stabilization of operational processes at the enterprise, provision of raw materials and carrying out a number of legal procedures.
The meeting also discussed the investment program aimed at modernization of the company’s equipment, implementation of new production technologies and raising industrial safety standards. As many as $1.3 billion will be spent on this purpose at the first stage.
Alikhan Smailov tasked the company to fulfill all its obligations to the workers of the enterprise. He stressed the importance of further dynamic development of production, raising the volume of the products manufactured and stage-by-stage environmental remediation.
At the end of the discussion, Smailov tasked the central governmental structures to provide necessary support to Qarmet in addressing the current issues and in elaboration of an action plan of the company’s development together with the investor.
