Kazakhstan draws Australia, Colombia in qualifying group for 2025 Billie Jean King Cup
Kazakhstan will take on Australia and Colombia in Group D at the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers following the qualifying draw held Thursday in London, Kazinform News Agency cites the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.
Team Kazakhstan was drawn into Group D of the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers along with the host Australia and Colombia. The Group D qualifiers will be held in Australia in April 2025.
The Billie Jean King Cup Finals switches from a 12 to an eight-team event to mirror the existing Davis Cup Final 8 format. The six group winners will be then joined by reigning champions Italy and host nation China in the Finals in November.
Meanwhile, teams finishing in second and third positions will compete in the Play-offs in November.
Home-or-away ties will return for the Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers and Play-offs in 2026.
As reported, Rybakina and Putintseva of Kazakhstan are to step onto court at the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open in the UAE.
