Canalized waterway to be cut in the Caspian Sea
Specialists of "TenizService" LLP, a subsidiary of "KazMunaiGas" National Company, informed that they were planning to dig on the seabed in the south-eastern part of the North Caspian canal with length of 50 km and depth of 5 meters. On the beach near Prorva there will a berthing complex for loading and unloading of different types of goods.
The project focuses on the companies which are developing land and offshore fields: Kashagan, Satpayev, Zhambyl, and Tengiz. Potential partners are the companies of North Caspian Operating Company, Tengiz Chevroil and KazMunayGaz. The implementation period of the project is the years 2013-2015.
Having made a number of critical comments, the participants of the hearing requested to take into account the raised questions and comments in the EIA (Assessment of environmental impact), which will be presented for debates in the autumn.
