The House of Friendship in Astana held today a televised event dedicated to the celebration of the Day of Gratitude in Kazakhstan. The organizers thanked the people of Kazakhstan who perform civic and labor feats and daily contribute to the strengthening of interethnic harmony and development of the country, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the Ministry of Culture.

More than 1,000 people participated in the event, which gave a start to the Caravan of Mercy nationwide campaign held annually under the aegis of the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan since 2015.

Throughout the year, the organizers hold concerts in nursing homes and orphanages, and prepare food baskets for large and low-income families. Today, as part of the Caravan of Mercy  campaign, two large families were presented the keys to new apartments in Astana. The campaign, will last until the end of the year and will end with a large forum.

Speaker of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev, Vice Minister of Culture and Information Daniyar Kadirov, Deputy Chairman of the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan Marat Azilkhanov and representatives of ethno-cultural associations attended the event.
