Caspian states prepare agreement on Caspian Sea's bio resources
The meeting's purpose was the discussion of the draft agreement on conservation and rational use of biological resources of the Caspian Sea, Trend reports.
Here the matter rests in the preparation of a regional document which aims at preserving the rich bio resources world and secures a consistent level of environmental management that meets the interests of the economy and ecology of each party, according to the message. The document will be signed by Caspian states heads during the 4th Caspian Summit to be held in the second half of 2014 in Astrakhan, Russia. The Caspian Sea is the world's largest inland water reservoir not having links with the world's oceans. In December 2013, it was reported that Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan agreed not to carry out commercial sturgeon fishing in the Caspian Sea in 2014.
