Catholic, Orthodox Christian churches of Europe to analyze economic crisis challenges

MINSK. April 3. KAZINFORM The Catholic and Orthodox Christian churches of Europe will work together to analyze challenges of the economic crisis, Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz, Metropolitan of Minsk and Mogilev, told media on 2 April.

A delegation of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus led by the Metropolitan will take part in the third European catholic and orthodox forum "Economic crisis and poverty in Europe as a modern time challenge". The forum will take place in Lisbon on 5-8 June.

According to the Metropolitan, the catholic and orthodox churches want to answer the challenge together and "it is a great testimony to our faith. Two previous forums were dedicated to matters of family and relations between the church and the state," said Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz.

In addition, a Belarusian delegation led by Archbishop Antony Demyanenko will take part in the seventh world meeting of families "The family: work and celebration" that will take place in Milan on 30 May - 3 June.

Vatican has already prepared catechesis for the congress. The admonitions include nine biblical quotes with comments.

Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz said that representatives of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus will take part in the congress of bishops "New evangelization for transferring Christian faith" that will take place in Vatican on 7-28 October.
