Cause of AN-2 crash may be announced in March

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The cause of crash of AN-2 plane in Zhambyl region may be announced in 3-4 months, deputy head of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Serik Mukhtybayev informed.

According to him, the investigation of the incident is underway now. The plane has been taken from the crash site to Almaty for conducting a more detailed investigation. "We have commissions investigating technical, flight and administrative parts of the incidents. Representatives of the plant, independent experts and law-enforcement agencies are involved in the process already," S. Mukhtybayev said. According to him, the experts haven't determined any cause of the crash because there were many factors that could lead to the incident. The most common ones are weather conditions, technical state and human factor. "There are some standards procedures of the investigation process. The plane is seriously damaged, but we need to almost assemble the part of the plane to see the whole picture. Taking into account that the plane is small, it will supposedly take about two-three months to complete the investigation," he added. He also noted that the plane was landing in adverse weather conditions. Besides, the plane does not have flight data recorders, therefore the recordings and state of all displays and devices will be studied separately. Besides, the meteorological report is being studied now.
