Census 2009: Preliminary results in Aktobe region.

AKTOBE. March 7. KAZINFORM / Samal Yendibayeva/ Second National Population Census 2009 came to an end in Kazakhstan. Aktobe Regional Statistics Department has announced preliminary results of the census in the oblast, Kazinform reports.

According to Head of the Department Aliya Boranbayeva, the results of the census showed growth of the population. Prior to the census the region numbered 711 884 people, while at present this figure comprises 765 028 people. 79% of the population are Kazakhs. The number of men is 365 579 and women ? 399 542.
