Trade and Industry Minister Arman Shakkaliyev said the agreement effectuates the decision made following the 20th session of the intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

The center will be built near Kazakhstan’s Atamaken and Uzbekistan’s Gulistan checkpoints and will include manufacturing sites, warehouses, and transport infrastructure. It will help speed up cargo carriage, reduce logistics costs, cut down the number of players in chain supplies, reduce final product costs, increase delivery speed and promote cooperation along the North-South corridor, he said.

The center will cover 100 hectares, of which 50 hectares are of Kazakhstan. A certain territory will be granted the status of the regional industrial area.

Its official opening is set for the first half of 2027.

As written before, the Global Textile company’s project to manufacture made-up textile articles will be developed at the industrial cooperation center.
