Central Asian national coordinators on cooperation with EU met in Brussels
There were discussed the results of development of relations between Central Asia and the EU over the past two years. "The scale of this cooperation is significant. These are the matters of security, education, judicial reform, human rights. Each state has submitted a report on the work done, as well as specific proposals for the harmonization of our relations with the EU, both at the bilateral and regional levels," said Volkov.
In addition, the meeting discussed the preparations for the forthcoming Ministerial Conference "European Union - Central Asia", which is planned to be held in June in Bishkek.
In turn, the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Mr. Pierre Morel said that the meeting discussed political and regional issues, joint projects and programs, and problems on the international agenda, including Afghanistan and Iran's nuclear program.
"I remember how five years ago Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Javier Solana, the EU High Representative, discussed the issues of Iran. This dialogue continues. We know the involvement of your country in solving the problems of Afghanistan. Therefore, at this meeting, we have discussed these issues and exchanged views," Pierre Morel noted.
