Chairman of Kazakh Constitutional Council receives OSCE/ODIHR mission

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Chairman of the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan Igor Rogov has received today the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission that will monitor the upcoming presidential elections in Kazakhstan in late April, the council's press service informs.

During the meeting, Igor Rogov stressed that Kazakhstan's authorities attached great importance to an open, transparent and unbiased election process. He reassured members of the mission that the upcoming elections would be held in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and international standards. Participants of the meeting were briefed on electoral laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, day-to-day functioning of the council, its role in the election process and other issues.
