Chairman of Kazakh Senate K. Tokayev?s speech drew attention: VIII session of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Vienna

VIENNA. February 21. KAZINFORM /Kenzhebolat Zholdybay/ Within the framework of the VIII session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Vienna, Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev made a special presentation on preparatory work on OSCE Chairmanship in 2010, Kazinform reports.

The report of Senate Chairman Tokayev delivered in brilliant English was paid great attention to and commented on by Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Joao Soares, Honorary President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Goran Lennmarker and OSCE PA Special Representative for Central Asia Kimmo Kiljunen. The heads of the Assembly complimented the approach of Kazakhstan to the oncoming OSCE Chairmanship and highly appraised the key provisions of ?Path to Europe? State Program, Kazakhstan?s intention to enroot the values and principles of the OSCE in Central Asia, promote the role of the region in the Organization. According to the reps of the OSCE PA, the comprehensive approach and implementation of ?Path to Europe? Program will allow Kazakhstan to diversify the economy, attract advanced technologies and investments, improve the living standards of the population.
