Chevron aims at fruitful cooperation with Kazakhstan ? John Watson

ASTANA. April 22. KAZINFORM Secretary of State Kanat Saudabayev has received newly appointed Vice Chairman of Chevron Corporation John Watson in Akorda Palace today, the Presidential press service informs.

State and prospects of cooperation in exploration of energy resources in Kazakhstan were on the agenda of the meeting. ?Being the first large foreign company that has the right to develop oil and gas deposits in Kazakhstan, Chevron attracts particular attention of the country?s authorities?, the Secretary of State said and noted the importance of further increasing oil products output and their transportation as well as enhancing social responsibility of the company. As is known Chevron participates in development of the two largest oil projects of the country ? Tengiz and Karachaganak. It is also the largest private stakeholder of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. Last year TengizChevroil JV completed the expansion project which allowed to significantly increase oil production on Tengiz. ?The prospects of our further cooperation are promising and we focus on fruitful cooperation with Kazakhstan, our long-term and responsible partner?, J. Watson said.
