Children of 19 nationalities learn their native language in secondary schools in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. November 27. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ 99.5 percent of population in Kazakhstan are literate. Kazakh Vice Minister of education and Science Makhmetkali Sarybekov has said it at the OSCE Review Conference in Astana today.
"In our country 85 percent of population aged 5-24 years study, 30 percent of the citizens involved in the system of education and science, 405,000 people work in this sphere", M.Sarybekov noted.
Moreover, according to the Vice Minister of Education and Science, children of 19 nationalities amounting to over 14.5 thousands people in 104 secondary schools learn their native language as an independent subject.
