Children’s arts and crafts centre to open in Ekibastuz

Pavlodar region plans to build a number of sports facilities and a new children’s arts and crafts centre in Ekibastuz, Kazinform News Agency reports. 

The Head of State assigned to build the new children’s centre and reconstruct Shakhtyor Park. Construction of the centre started this year. it will be commissioned next autumn, governor Assain Baikhanov told a press conference at the central communications service.
Besides, six fitness and health centres, martial arts centre and 198 sports grounds were built this year. 14 sites were repaired.
The governor added this year the region held commemorative events of great historical and cultural significance including celebrations of 100th anniversary of poet Muzafar Alimbayev, 110th anniversary of people’s artist of Kazakh SSR Shakan Musin, 155th anniversary of akyn, singer and composer Yestau Berkimbayev, 165th anniversary of poet, thinker, historian ethnographer Mashkhur Zhusup Kopeyev, 170th anniversary of spiritual enlightener Gabdul Yakhit Khaziret and 135th anniversary of poet Sultanmakhmut Toraigyrov.
Next year will mark 110th anniversary of people’s artist, film and theater director Shaken Aimanov, 135th anniversary of writer Zhusipbek Aimautov, 120th anniversary of one of the founders of archeological science Alkey Margulan and 125th anniversary of scientist, geologist, founder of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan Kanysh Satpayev.
