China grants Kyrgyzstan 200 mln yuan

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev met in Beijing with Director of China International Development Cooperation Agency Luo Zhaohui, Kabar reports.

The Cabinet of Ministers said that the parties discussed current issues of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation, the progress of the implementation of the tasks set by President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and Chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping, previously reached bilateral agreements and issues included in the agenda of the meeting.

The interlocutors reviewed the current state of implementation of projects between Kyrgyzstan and China included in the list of priority projects within the framework of grant assistance from the Government of the People's Republic of China, as well as the prospects for bilateral cooperation.

Following the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobaev and Director of the China International Development Cooperation Agency Luo Zhaohui signed an agreement on the provision of gratuitous assistance between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of China.

In accordance with the agreement, the Government of China will provide the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan with gratuitous assistance in the total amount of 200 million Chinese yuan (more than 2.3 billion soms) for the implementation of future agreements between the parties on projects.

The funds provided within the framework of cooperation in the implementation of bilateral technical and economic assistance projects, as well as for the further development of friendly relations and technical and economic cooperation between the two countries.
