China makes world’s fastest supercomputer
BEIJING. November 15. KAZINFORM China's Tianhe-1A ranks number one on the list of the world's fastest super computers, the Xinhua news agency said on Monday; Kazinform refers to ITAR-TASS.
According to the 36th edition of TOP500 list of the world's most powerful supercomputers, which was released on Sunday, the Chinese computer's capacity is 2.67 quadrillion of operations per second.
Tianhe-1A was developed by the Changsha-based National University of Defence Technology.
On the TOP500 list of the world's most powerful supercomputers are also 274 US and 125 European systems as well as 84 systems made in Asia; Kazinform cites ITAR-TASS.
