China's leading electronics retailer goes in for mega stores
BEIJING. April 22. KAZINFORM Gome, China's leading electronics retail chain, will focus on transforming some of its existing stores into more profitable mega stores rather than expanding the number of stores nationwide, the China Daily reported Wednesday, Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

Gome Vice-President He Yangqing was quoted as saying Tuesday that Gome plans to either renovate or set up at least five to six such mega stores in major cities, including Beijing and Shanghai.
The move is part of the company's efforts at "strategic transformation" aimed at helping the firm rid the ill-effects of a scandal involving its billionaire founder Huang Guangyu's alleged stock manipulation. Huang is under investigation for alleged economic fraud, Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.chinaview. cn for full version.
