China supports Kazakhstan’s accession to BRICS
China supports Kazakhstan’s accession to BRICS, Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping said after wrapping up high-level talks with his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana on Wednesday, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Xi Jinping insisted that Astana and Beijing should further continue close cooperation within UN, SCO and China-Central Asia format.
“China supports Kazakhstan’s accession to BRICS, as one of the Middle Powers, to play a growing role and contribute to global affairs and management. China and Kazakhstan stood at the origins of establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. I would like to praise the tangible contribution of Kazakhstan’s presidency in promoting the original cooperation and development of the SCO activity. There is no doubt, tomorrow’s Astana summit will be a success and propel the SCO activity to a new height,” the Chinese leader said.
