China to host III Eurasian Economic Forum

BEIJING.  October 13. KAZINFORM /Ruslan Suleimenov/ On November 16-17, 2009 Chinese town Xi'an (Shaanxi province) will host the  III Eurasian Economic Forum, Kazinform cites Secretary General of the Eurasian Economic Forum Chijan Deguan.

Senior officials and members of the SCO governments, heads of large enterprises, scientists and experts, mass media were invited to the forum. Representatives of Pakistan, India, Iraq and other countries are expected to participate in the event as well.

As Chijan Deguan noted, the III Eurasian Economic Forum would focus on exchange of opinions on cooperation in energy, finances, education and interaction in customs. "The forum is called to strengthen mutual trust, cohesion and cooperation among the participants as well as to develop measures on countering modern challenges caused by the changes on the global and regional arena"., he said.

The I Eurasian Economic Forum took place Nov 2005 in Xi'an, the People's Republic of China under the support of the Secretariat of the SCO, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific, the Secretariat of the Boao Forum for Asia and China Development Bank.
