China vows to enhance military exchanges with Finland
BEIJING. February 23. KAZINFORM The Chinese armed forces are willing to enhance the military exchanges with Finland, Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie said here Monday.
Liang, also a state councilor, made the remarks when meeting with visiting Chief of General Staff of the National Defence Forces of Finland, Ari Puheloinen.
Liang said, "Finland is one of the first western countries that established diplomatic ties with China. The two countries have made great achievements in their cooperation."
He said the two military forces maintained a good momentum of high-level contacts, with exchanges and cooperation in technology and training.
"China is ready to work with Finland to enhance friendship and for mutual benefit, " he added; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
Puheloinen said the people of Finland spoke highly of China's accomplishments in the past.
He also expressed hopes to further state and military relations with joint efforts.
