China’s air carriers to increase flights to Kazakhstan

Acting chairman of the civil aviation committee of the Kazakh Transport Ministry Talgat Lastayev met with the representatives of Chinese air carriers such as Air China, China Southern Airlines, and Loong Airlines which perform regular passenger flights to Kazakhstan, Kazinform Agency cites the committee’s press service.

China Southern Airlines will add to its network new routes connecting Almaty and Beijing. Flights will be operated three times a week starting from January 23, 2024. Besides, it is ready to consider increasing flights from Almaty to Urumqi and Xian, from Astana to Urumqi next spring-and-summer season.

In its turn, Loong Airlines plans to increase flights en route Almaty-Hangzhou from three to four flights a week. Next year it plans to increase the number of flights up to 7 a week if passenger traffic grows. The air carrier is considering opening new routes between Astana and Hangzhou, Astana and Chengdu, and Almaty and Chengdu in 2024.

Air China plans to increase the number of flights en route Astana -Xian-Beijing from two to three weekly flights.

The number of flights is expected to grow up to 30 a week next spring-and-summer season at large.
