Chinese Central Military Commission Vice Chairman visited naval station in Aktau

AKTAU. July 19. KAZINFORM Today Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Central Military Commission (CMC) Fan Changlong has arrived in Aktau within the first official visit to Kazakhstan.

Fan Changlong visited sea base of the Naval Forces of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan's Naval Forces has a big progress in terms of technical equipment, personnel training and staffing of departments. History of the Naval Forces of Kazakhstan dates back to April 2, 1993, when President Nazarbayev signed the presidential decree on the establishment of the Navy. On May 7, 2003 the Army, Air Force and Defense Navy were formed in the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan. From the outset, the leadership of the country, first of all, Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev paid a special attention to the development of the Navy.

"A Memorandum on 30 heavy equipment trawlers' cargo was signed yesterday in Astana," Kazakh Commander-in-Chief of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan Zhandarbek Zhanzakov informed.

"Such close cooperation is very fruitful. Regularly we hold joint trainings within the SCO on the territories of our countries, we have common positions. Intelligent services' competitions have taken place recently in Kazakhstan. Chinese intelligent services were second, Kazakhstan took the lead," Z. Zhanzakov added.

Following the presentation, the Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Central Military Commission was awarded a medal on occasion of the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Naval Forces. In turn, the Chinese side presented the Naval Forces of Kazakhstan with its symbol.

In addition, the Chinese delegation is expected to visit ORAL artillery missile ship test operation and naval infantry brigade.
