Xinhua: Xi meets Kazakh president

Xinhua reported on October 17 about the meeting of Chinese and Kazakh leaders in Beijing ahead of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

"Xi Jinping said he is very happy to meet his old friend again. A sound, stable and vibrant China-Kazakhstan relationship is conducive to the development and revitalization of both countries as well as to regional peace and stability.

China supports Kazakhstan in safeguarding its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, Xi said.

No matter how the international situation changes, China and Kazakhstan should pass on the concept of good-neighborliness and friendship from generation to generation, and promote further development of China-Kazakhstan permanent comprehensive strategic partnership, Xi said,” the article reads.

Xinhua: Chinese Premier meets Kazakh President

Another article published by Xinhua covers a meeting of Chinese Premier Li Qiang with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Tuesday in Beijing.

“Li said that China is ready to work with Kazakhstan in boosting the synergy of the Silk Road Economic Belt construction and Kazakhstan's Bright Road initiative, consolidate and expand traditional economic and trade cooperation in areas like agriculture, actively expand cooperation in emerging areas such as 5G communications, big data, the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and cross-border e-commerce. China will also work with Kazakhstan to continue to enhance connectivity at border ports, cross-border railways, and land-sea multimodal transport.

Li also expressed China's commitment to further strengthening people-to-people exchanges with Kazakhstan in areas such as culture, tourism, education, youth, film and television, and at local levels, and continue to play an exemplary and leading role in high-quality Belt and Road cooperation,” reads the article.

Chinese newspaper People’s Daily Online published an article titled as Chinese-Speaking President Returns to His Alma Mater when Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited Beijing Language and Culture University.

The newspaper writes that President Tokayev studied at the Beijing University of Language and Culture, and worked in Beijing for 8 years. The Kazakh President speaks Chinese fluently.

During the visit to the educational institution, the President of Kazakhstan met with Kazakh students studying at this university.

ChinaNews: The President, who knows China well

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is in China. And as part of his official two-day visit, he plans to take part in the Belt and Road Forum. Correspondent of ChinaNews state agency in her live report names Kassym-Jomart Tokayev "The President, who knows China well," and "A good friend of the Chinese people."

“This is President Tokayev's second visit to China. We expect from the Kazakh leader’s visit to China this golden autumn, that the bilateral relations will keep developing in a new direction and this will give new impetus to joint efforts to create the Belt and Road Initiative, ChinaNews correspondent said.
