Chinese MFA welcomes Egypt?s proposal on regulation of Gaza situation

BEIJING. January 9. KAZINFORM /Talgat Baimukhambetov/ The international community should focus on Egypt?s initiative on ceasefire in Gaza Strip, an official spokesperson of the MFA has told at a weekly briefing in Beijing on Thursday, Kazinform reports.

The Chinese Diplomat highlighted that the People?s Republic of China together with the international community will exert every effort on assistance in immediate termination of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. On behalf of China he expressed concern over deterioration of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and declared that only ceasefire would provide conditions for regulation of the argument by political means and talks. As earlier reported, President of Egypt Hosni Mubarak forwarded an initiative providing for immediate ceasefire and opening of a safe corridor for delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, holding of an urgent session of the parties to overcome escalation of the conflict, opening of Gaza ports and raising the blockade from the sector and achievement of reconciliation among Palestinian groups through the mediation of Egypt.
