Chinese students set synchronous bathing record

BEIJING. November 9. KAZINFORM. Over 10,000 students in China's central Hubei province set a world record for simultaneous bathing in hot springs, the China Daily reported on Monday; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.

The record-breaking event took place in seven hot springs in the city of Xianning, the paper said. The ceremony started with a show: students from local colleges wearing red swimming hats formed the figure "10,000" amid hot waters.

According to the paper, the total number of bathers was 10,012, more than enough for a new Guinness record.

Bathing in hot springs, famous for their medicinal properties, is popular in China; Kazinform cites RIA Novosti.
