Chrysler recalls problematic Dodge Challengers
CHICAGO. March 19. KAZINFORM Chrysler Group LLC is recalling 4, 459 model-year 2013 Dodge Challenger cars with V-6 engines to address a potential short circuit that could cause a fire.
According to Xinhua, the U.S. automaker, controlled by Italy's Fiat SpA, warned owners to stop driving the affected cars and refrain from parking the cars in a garage or near a structure. It went on to say that a short circuit could cause a wire harness to overheat and possibly lead to a fire.
The company admitted that it has been aware of seven such incidents, though none caused any injuries, The Chicago Tribune reported.
Of the 4,459 cars to be recalled, 2,500 are now in the hands of owners, while the rest are still with dealers, the local newspaper quoted the automaker as saying.
