CIS activities to be reviewed in Minsk on 22 December

KAZINFORM Permanent plenipotentiary representatives of the CIS member states at charter and other bodies of the organization will review the work of the Commonwealth in 2011 and discuss plans for 2012 at a session in Minsk on 22 December, BelTA learnt from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

According to BelTA, the CIS permanent representatives are to discuss a candidacy of the head of the CIS observation team at the presidential election in Turkmenistan and approve the draft agenda of the next session.

In 2011 the council of the permanent plenipotentiary representatives of the CIS member states was chaired by representative of Tajikistan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Belarus Kozidavlat Koimdodov. The council convened 15 times from January to December. It held one joint session with the commission for economic affairs of the CIS Economic Council to discuss over 40 issues related to various cooperation fields of the CIS member states.

The council of the permanent plenipotentiary representatives attached special importance to the implementation of decisions made by the CIS supreme bodies, and coordination and analysis of sectoral cooperation.
