CIS agricultural sector performance in 2010 to be reviewed on 4 March
According to BelTA, keeping in mind the fact that the 2011 Year has been announced the year of increasing food security in the CIS, the session will highlight the issue of organizing a training conference on food security enhancement.
The participants of the meeting are expected to discuss the revised draft calculation methodology and the forms of joint balances of the major commodities, a draft plan of action of the intergovernmental council on agro-industrial sector to implement the decision on trade in the CIS fruit, vegetables and potato market through the international commodity-distribution network Green Corridor in 2011-2012.
The council which members are heads of the CIS central agricultural executive bodies has so far held 23 sessions and considered nearly 260 issues pertaining to the cooperation development in the CIS agricultural sector. The council has prepared several basic agreements in the agricultural sector including the agreement on the CIS common agrarian market signed by the CIS heads of government (except Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan).
