CIS countries confirm readiness for constructive cooperation
The meeting confirmed the readiness of the countries of the region for a constructive business-like interaction and mutual understanding. The foreign ministers addressed the issues in the areas of security, education, and culture, the press service informed. A separate block of issues was about the new challenges and cooperation in the field of prevention of emergency situations and relief efforts.
The draft decisions on awarding the status of the CIS base organization to two Belarusian research and educational institutions will be submitted for consideration of the CIS Council of the Heads of Government. These are the Research Institute of Labor at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Belarus and the Belarusian State Economic University.
On the sidelines of the Bishkek meeting the foreign ministers adopted a statement on the 40th anniversary of the Final Act of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe.
The heads of the foreign ministries of the CIS member states were received by Kyrgyzstan President Almazbek Atambayev.
In Bishkek Vladimir Makei held a meeting with his Kyrgyzstan counterpart Erlan Abdyldaev. The parties discussed topical issues of the development of the Kyrgyz-Belarusian relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas, and also outlined the specific steps to improve the cooperation in a constructive way, BelTA reports.
Vladimir Makei also held a number of working meetings.
