CIS emergency council to discuss establishment of relief fund

The draft agenda of the session includes over 10 issues. The participants of the session will discuss the work of the CIS emergency response forces, consider a possibility to establish the relief fund to help the CIS member states affected by emergencies, discuss the work of two grass-route organizations of the Council and the cooperation agreement on emergency prevention and response.
The participants of the session will also discuss procedures associated with coordination and information exchange between the emergency action centers and the algorithm of sharing information with field service of the emergencies ministries of the CIS member states, BelTA reports.
The CIS Interstate Council on Emergency Situation of Natural and Anthropogenic Character was set up in 1993. The Council initiated a number of interstate agreements that were passed by supreme bodies of the Commonwealth. The Council is designed to facilitate joint emergency response and prevention by the CIS member states.
