CIS Prime Ministers to meet in Saint Petersburg
The parties will focus on a wide range of issues concerning interaction and cooperation in economic sphere. The participants will discuss 20 draft documents on further development and deepening cooperation in economic and humanitarian spheres, ensuring security, Kazinform cites the press service of the CIS Executive Committee. The most important of them are draft decisions regarding establishment and functioning of the free trade zone, beef and dairy products market, ensuring food security of the CIS states, production and consumption of energy resources.
The prime ministers are expected to discuss the course of preparation for an Inter-state exhibition dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the CIS and the course of fulfillment of the Decision adopted October 7, 2002 on establishment of permanently functioning exhibitions of the CIS states on the ground of Moscow-based All-Russia Exhibition Centre.
A package of documents regulating monitoring of the main target macro-economic indices of development of the CIS states, cooperation in legal protection and intellectual property protection, creation of joint national telemedicine system and their further development and usage will be considered too.
The prime ministers will also hear the reports on activity of the Coordinating Transport Conference of CIS countries for 2006-2009 and the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification.
The heads of CIS governments are expected to discuss 2020 Strategy of the CIS Economic Development and the course of drafting an Interstate target program of CIS states innovative cooperation till 2020.
A number of documents to be discussed at the meeting relates to humanitarian cooperation. In particular, the participants will adopt a Decision on major directions of further development of medical-social care and increasing level of life of war veterans - participants of local conflicts.
