Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan and Democracy Institute to assess Majilis elections

ASTANA. December 8. KAZINFORM /Askar Bimendin/ "Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan and scientific research association Democracy Institute announce their intention to monitor elections to the Majilis and maslikhats," Kazakhstan's Civil Alliance executive director Alina Khamatdinova told.

"We believe free and democratic election is the key opportunity given to the citizens. Therefore, the civil society should never remain uninvolved in the electoral process. Civil institutes start more and more focus on the government work assessment and pursue different social studies. The Civil Alliance as is known groups above 500 various NGOs engaged in these issues. It gives us an opportunity to take part in the assessment of the forthcoming elections. In particular, we plan to conduct exit-polls on the day of elections," Khamatdinova said.
