"This year, on the threshold of Saken Seifullin’s anniversary, our museum received a number of valuable exhibits. One of them is a coffee grinder used by Saken Seifullin, which was found in Kyzylorda. In 1928, he headed the Institute of Public Education in Kyzylorda. Besides, a number of important documents was found. In 1922, when he led the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic, the Land Code was adopted and this document was preserved. Along with this, our museum displays a document on aviation adopted on April 4, 1923,” Director of the Saken Seifullin Museum, Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor Marat Absemetov said at the event.

According to him, after the document on aviation was adopted, flights between Orenburg and Uralsk, Akmola and Semey were launched.

“Saken was not a pilot, but he was the first Kazakh to board a plane. Later he opened an aero-club in Orenburg where Talgat Begeldinov and Yuri Gagarin studied. Saken loved music. He published a collection of thousands of Kazakh songs composed by Aleksandr Zatayevich. Unfortunately, the collection does not include the kuys performed by Saken on the kobyz. On August 24, 1964, kuyshi Daulet Myktybaev performed “Saryarka” and “Aupildek” kuys, the compositions played by Saken on the kobyz,” Marat Absemetov noted.

He added that a monograph by Saken Seifullin was published in Türkiye this year ahead of his anniversary (in the Turkish language).
