Commitments undertaken by CSTO states should be carried out despite different approaches and interests - Nazarbayev

MOSCOW. December 10. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Commitments undertaken by the CSTO member states should be carried out despite the difference in approaches and interests. Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said it at the sitting of the CSTO Collective Security Council on Friday.

"Kazakhstan is committed to striving to enhance the capacity of our organization for creation of conditions allowing to ensure stability and security in the region, as well as for prevention of emerging threats and challenges", the President of Kazakhstan noted.

"In general we are satisfied with the recent positive trends in relations of the CSTO states in the field of defense and countering modern challenges and threats", N. Nazarbayev added.

The Head of the State emphasized the importance of development of a package of measures to improve the activity of the CSTO on the basis of coordinated strategic development course.

He stressed that Kazakhstan fully supports the necessity of actualization of approaches to the provision of collective security based on the analysis of trends in a changing world.
