Common economic interests of Kazakhstan and Spain

ASTANA. December 7. KAZINFORM Kazakh Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain Yergali Bulegenov on December 1-3 paid a working trip to the Autonomous Community of Catalonia to have meetings and take part in the event dated to the 20th anniversary of independence, the Kazakh MFA's press service reports.

In a meeting with head of the Catalan government, Artur Mas the parties focused on urgent issues of the Kazakh-Spanish bilateral cooperation. The ambassador briefed on Kazakhstan's development for the past 20 years, foreign policy priorities and results of the basic state-run programs, the country's achievements, especially the OSCE chairmanship in 2010 and current OIC presidency.

The parties debated trade and economic cooperation issues.

Besides, Bulegenov met with head of the Commerce Chamber of Barcelona Josep Manuel Basañez, director of the international relations department of Barcelona City Hall Joachim Limanes to discuss the development of ties between Almaty and Barcelona, cooperation in torusim and sport, services and preparations for the Universiade 2017.

The same the Kazakh diplomat met with 40 Kazakhstani children adopted by the Catalan families. They enjoyed the film about Kazakhstan in Spanish and were given presents.
