Conference of UN Anti-Corruption Convention member-countries kicked off in Doha
Kazakh delegation consisting of the experts of the Agency for Fight with Economic and Corruption Crimes is headed by Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Qatar Azamat Berdybay.
The event aims at exchange of views on the course of implementation and propaganda of the UN Convention against Corruption in member countries and attraction of more countries to the initiative as well as exchange of international experience in fight with corruption and studying the role of anti-corruption bodies in state and private sectors.
Addressing the participants of the meeting our diplomat told about Kazakhstan's achievements in struggle against corruption. He noted that in 2008 Head of the State signed the Law "On ratification of the UN against corruption" which confirmed Kazakhstan's intention to adhere to international standards in prevention and countering corruption. The Ambassador stressed that Kazakhstan would continue implementing the Convention in order to bring its anti-corruption legislation into compliance with international standards.
The Conference will last until November 13. A final document and a report are to be adopted following it, Kazinform has learnt from the Kazakh MFA's press service.
