TANA. November 10. KAZINFORM The first Congress of the Leaders of the World and Traditional Religions, initiated by Nursultan Nazarbayev, took place on September 23, 2003, Kazakh PM Karim Massimov wrote on his Facebook page within "The 20 facts of independence" project.

"This forum has no analogues the worldwide. For the first time in the history the heads of the world and traditional religions convened together. The most authoritative representatives of Islam, Christianity, Shintoism, Judaism and Buddhism attended the first interfaith forum. The congress contributed greatly to the global process of inter-civilizational and intercultural dialogue," the PM said.
