Construction of Astana-Karaganda four-lane highway planned for first half of 2010: A.Kusainov
KARAGANDA. December 5. KAZINFORM /Valentina Yelizarova/ "Construction of Astana-Karaganda four-lane highway is planned to be started in the second half of 2010", Kazakh Minister f Transport and Communications Abelgazy Kusainov has said today at the session in Karaganda on the issues of development of transport infrastructure of the region.

"We have all necessary documentations today. The Ministry works on realization of the project on reconstruction of Astana-Karaganda four-lane highway and construction works will be started in 2010", A.Kusainov said.
"To date we have investors that are ready to build this road. We negotiate it now. I believe, this project is attractive", the Minister noted. He resisted of specifying what particular investors are interested saying that these are foreign companies.
The Minister informed on the plans of road construction continuation towards Almaty. "We plan to construct the road towards Almaty through Kapchagay. We discuss construction of a bridge crossing over Balkhash that will allow to cut the way by 200 km", A.Kusainov said.
