Construction of floating solar power plant kicks off on outskirts of Bishkek
Chakan HPP OJSC was one of the first to begin implementing a pilot project for a solar power plant in the daily regulation basin at HPP-5, KABAR reports.
The company reported that under the Technical Assistance project, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) allocated a grant for the development of floating solar power plants.
It is noted that the floating power plant project itself is considered primarily as supporting the operation of stations during peak periods and during periods of shortage of water resources.
ADB experts determined the installation location of photovoltaic panels on the surface of the HPP-5 reservoir, on an area of 1200 square meters and a preliminary power of 100 kW.
Also, ADB has identified a general contractor for the construction of the solar power plant: the Spanish company Gamma, which will carry out the work on a turnkey basis. Naryn SGEM OJSC was chosen as the subcontractor.
Thus, to date, the main equipment of the solar power station has arrived at the warehouse of HPP-5, and the workers of the subcontractor Naryn SGEM LLC have begun construction of a pier for the further assembly of solar panels.
The company noted that upon successful completion of the project, Chakan HPP OJSC intends to continue installing a solar power plant on the territory of the reservoir. The territory of the reservoir allows the installation of solar power plants on 60% of the surface of the reservoir.
