Construction of gas-chemical complex launched in Atyrau
ATYRAU. November 10. KAZUNFORM /Andrei Sokolov/ The construction of the first integrated gas-chemical complex started in Atyrau region. The complex is capable of producing around 1.2 mln tons of polyethylene and polypropylene per year.
'Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Ltd' is responsible for construction of the complex. The project costs USD 6.3 bln.
The process of construction is divided into two stages. The first stage worth USD 2 bln planned to be finished in 2014 and provides for capability of the complex to produce around 500 thousand tons of polypropylene per year.
The project is financed by the Chinese loan that was achieved within the credit agreement signed by 'SamrukKazyna' Fund and China Eximbank. The project will be financed through the Development Bank of Kazakhstan.
