Construction of KIA car manufacturing plant begins in Kostanay rgn

 Kostanay region has launched the construction of a new KIA vehicle production plant, Kumar Aksakalov, governor of the region, said, Kazinform Agency correspondent reports. 

Thanks to the support of the country’s leadership and government, a start was given to the realization of one of the key projects in the mechanical engineering sector – construction of a new KIA vehicle production plant carried out by the own funds of Kia Corporation, said the region’s governor.

The plant’s capacity is to reach 70 thousand cars per year, according to Aksakalov.

The total amount of investment in the project is to stand at KZT90bn, and 1,5000 jobs are to be created. The plant is set to be launched in 2025.

Construction of a localization center for production of car components to the tune of KZT13bn is to be launched. The center is to produce 70 thousand units per year and create 800 working places.
