Construction of new TPPs in Kazakhstan with Russia’s participation: Majilis to debate draft law
The Kazakh Majilis proceeded to the Law of Kazakhstan On ratification of the Agreement between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Russia on the projects for the construction of coal-fired thermal power plants in the cities of Kokshetau, Semey and Ust Kamenogorsk in Kazakhstan, Kazinform News agency reports.
The agreement provides for cooperation between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Russia on the projects for the construction of coal-fired thermal power plants in the cities of Kokshetau, Semey and Ust Kamenogorsk. It defines terms for designing, manufacturing and supplying equipment, construction and commissioning new TPPs, and privileged financing mechanisms for Russia’s granting export credit loan to Kazakhstan. The Majilis environment and nature management committee is ready to draw up a conclusion on the draft law, deputy Yedil Zhambyrshin said.
As earlier reported, at the XIX forum of interregional cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin said Russia will built three TPPs in Kazakhstan. The TPP construction site has been already selected in Kokshetau.
