Construction of over 30 new schools underway in Astana
The 2035 updated general layout of the Kazakh capital of Astana provides for construction of over 430 social facilities (schools, kindergartens and health facilities), including 164 schools, Astana Mayor Zhenis Kassymbek wrote on his Instagram account, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Currently, up to 30 schools for almost 100 thousand sits (in two shifts) are under construction in the city. A record of 23 schools are set to be commissioned before the beginning of the new school year, added Kassymbek.
As part of the Comfortable School national project, Samruk-Kazyna Construction eyes to build 24 comfortable schools before 2025, creating 90 thousand school places in two shifts.
Of these, eight schools are due to be commissioned during this academic year.
Three public and one private schools are set to be opened as well before this academic year. Seven more comfortable, two public and two private schools are slated for opening before the yearend.
