The CIS Advisory Council for Consumer Protection is a sectoral agency designed to coordinate interaction of the government bodies of the CIS member states in a bid to implement the CIS agreement on cooperation in consumer protection as of 25 January 2000. At first the organization was run by the CIS Interstate Council for Antimonopoly Policy. In 2011 the consumer protection activities were transferred to the CIS Advisory Council for Consumer Protection.
Constant international cooperation within the framework of the advisory council will help step up cooperation and expand partnership of the CIS governments in consumer protection and outline cooperation forms and major stages of the further development of the interstate system of consumer protection. This will contribute to working out an awareness raising policy aimed to foster an environment intolerant to unfair entrepreneurship.
