Cooperation betweem Kazakhstan and Japan to be fruitful, Minister Yukio Edano

ASTANA. May 1. KAZINFROM. "Cooperation with Kazakhstan in the sphere of  industry will be fruitful,"  announced  Japan Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yukio Edano, leading the Japanese delegation of business companies following the meeting with the Kazakh Minister of  Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev.

"We have agreed  cooperation  between the Japanese company 'Sumitcorporation' and the Kazakh company "Kazatomprom"  on consolidation of the joint venture  and  interaction  in the sphere of the rare-earth metals mining and processing and the technology of  nuclear waste handling.  A memorandum between Kazakhstan National Nuclear Center  (NNC) and 'Toshiba' Corporation gives the possibilities to combat the aftermath of the accident at the "Fukushima" nuclear power plant " Y. Edano said.

Six bilateral documents, including the Memorandum of the economic cooperation development, were signed following the results of the meeting.
